De-moulding
Rotational molding can provide a uniform wall thickness compared to other plastic processing methods.
Today’s products require multiple piece molds, various types of inserts (stainless, alum., brass), molded threads for caps, internal threads, caster mounting plates are molded in product. Designers can easily add molded inserts, reinforced ribs, kissoff ribbing and undercuts.
Through the rotomolding process, inserts can be molded integrally into the part. Molded-in inserts can be screw machine parts, casting, or support bars incorporated directly into your rotationally molded component. Because the inserts become completely encapsulated in the rotationally molded part, they can be used on tanks to mount hardware while maintaining the tank’s ability to hold water. Molded-in inserts such as castings and stampings are available for rotomolding components that require a close tolerance on insert location.
